Biloxi Children's Walking Mardi Gras Parade goes crazy
BILOXI -- The baby crazies took over downtown Biloxi on Saturday.
Cute kids in wagons and on bikes, dancers and even Elvis were all there for the Biloxi Children's Walking Mardi Gras Parade.
More than 300 kids registered for the event, but many more participated in the parade and festivities that followed at the Biloxi Mardi Gras Museum.
"I thought these people were crazy at first, but it's awesome," said Thelma Hinton, 28, of Biloxi. The Yazoo City native marched with her daughter and some other friends from Jeff Davis Elementary School.
"We do the Mardi Gras thing every year, said her friend, Silver Macchio, 26, who danced down the street with her daughter, LeeAnn. It was only their first parade of the day, with plans to go to Vancleave later in the day.
"We had a great time," said Hinton.
