Those craving a New Orleans king cake but not the ride into the city can drive-up and pick up their favorites in Bay St. Louis.

Saturday, Jan. 24 is the one day when the King Cake Drive-Thru will be set up outside Driftwood Motel at 810 U.S. 90, Bay St. Louis.

Cakes from New Orleans and South Louisiana bakeries will be available only that day from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., or until all are sold. Payment must be made by credit card.

The event was first held last year and by noon all the cakes were sold out.

The names of the bakeries participating this year haven’t been released yet. The menu will be posted the week of the event on Facebook at King Cake Drive-Thru, and on Instagram or TikTok at @kingcakedrivethu.

In 2025, the cakes cake from Antoine’s, Brennan’s, Bittersweet Confections, Caluda’s, Cannata’s, Hi-Do, Joe’s Cafe, and Sucré were sold at the pop-up event.

“Today we had everything from a cannoli King Cake, to a Nutella filled, as well as strawberry cream cheese and traditional,” Mike Graves said in 2025 “We even had a Vietnamese iced coffee filled one and a Parisian style, which is like a big croissant style cake.”

Mike and Tiffany Graves created the concept as a convenient opportunity to purchase king cakes from renowned bakeries New Orleans with no road trip required. Similar events are being planned in Baton Rouge and Houston.
