Mardi Gras

This Biloxi parade is one of the coolest Mardi Gras celebrations in the US, magazine says

Coastians know New Orleans isn’t the only place to celebrate Mardi Gras, but the rest of the country doesn’t necessarily know that. Parade magazine has compiled a list of other cities where the purple, green and gold will reign until Ash Wednesday, and Biloxi is included among the “Coolest Mardi Gras Celebrations Around the U.S.”

Specifically, the magazine’s website mentions Gulf Coast Carnival Association’s parade on Fat Tuesday, or Mardi Gras itself, which is Feb. 13 this year.

Mardi Gras on the Mississippi Gulf Coast began on Twelfth Night and continues to the night of Feb. 13. Since then, parties and parades, starting with the brand-new Lucedale Carnival Association’s route, have kept the good times rolling.

Other cities where Mardi Gras is celebrated include, of course, Mobile, as well as more unexpected places such as Panama City Beach, Florida; Red River, New Mexico, and Galveston, Texas.
