On the final season of American Idol, a Mississippian may finally win the entire competition.
Judge Jennifer Lopez predicted earlier in the season that Amory waiter Trent Harmon and La'Porsha Renae, a 22-year-old call representative from McComb, would be the final two left standing.
And after listening to these two belt out hit and after hit, I'm definitely standing on Jenny's block.

Trent and La'Porsha are both so special and deserve to take the final two spots on the final season, but it's the McComb native who really pulls at my heart strings. When I saw the love she had for her daughter in her audition, I knew she was doing this for more than just herself. Her strength and perseverance shows in every performance, for she gets stronger and stronger.
Her unique tone is convincing, and the water that forms in her eyes after almost every performance tells me that singing is what she loves, what she needs and what helps her move forward. I mean, have you seen her rendition of "Diamonds" by Rihanna? Whoa.
What's disheartening, though, is that some people commenting on SunHerald's Facebook page had negative things to say about La'Porsha's hair. Some said they loved her voice but wished she would do something else with her curly locks. Some said they "wanted to see her beautiful face."
It's true, La'Porsha is stunning. But why does her hairstyle matter? Did anyone comment about Trent's hair? Nope. Of course not.
Per India Arie, we are not our hair. La'Porsha's hair just proves that women not only have to be talented, they are expected to look a certain way.
And La'Porsha Renae is beautiful just the way she is.
