Be thankful everyday, not just on Turkey Day

I'm thankful for the ride along U.S. 90 on the way to work and the view of the water, the piers, the casinos and the shrimp boats.

I'm thankful for my mother, who woke up today and baked my baby cousin a chocolate pie because she can't be at Thanksgiving this year because she has to work.

I'm thankful for Aunt Rhed.

I'm thankful for the row of people (plus Anita Lee) that listen to my terrible jokes and deal with my Type-A attitude every single day at work.

I'm thankful for IHOP being open on holidays for working folks.

I'm thankful for those who volunteer, not just today, but throughout the year, because helping others is vital and important.

I'm thankful that even though I don't attend mass like I should, every time I make it to the pew, it's an intimate hour that I am blessed to have.

I'm thankful for having friends that are family, for having people that don't judge. I'm thankful for having to make many holiday stops after work to see the ones that I love.

I'm thankful for the small group of people I will eat with at Waffle House tonight--our own Thanksgiving/Christmas tradition.

I'm thankful for boat rides in July.

I'm thankful for Thursday karaoke at Mississippi Juke Joint.

I'm thankful for the people who know my inner workings and know when to tell me to quit being ridiculous.

I'm thankful for my grandmother's laugh and reciting the rosary with my grandfather.

I'm thankful for Taylor Swift's pop album, Miley's "I don't care what you think" attitude, and "Details in the Fabric" by Jason Mraz.

I'm thankful McDonald's fountain drinks, CrossFit, and America's Next Top Model marathons.

I'm thankful for the people in Hancock County who have always supported me and never doubted me, even if they don't agree with my actions or some of my opinions that I express in my blogs.

I'm thankful for an outspoken hairstylist who has taken the Kiln by storm and always gives me a fresh fade in a moment's notice.

I'm thankful for hot dogs.

I'm thankful for the decision made on Tuesday by Judge Reeves.

I'm thankful for diversity, for culture and for BBC Radio 1.

Most of all, I'm always thankful for all of the blessings that I have. I'm blessed and fortunate everyday, not just on Turkey Day.
