Chris Stapleton spotted Christmas shopping in Laurel, Mississippi

Country star Chris Stapleton was in Laurel over the weekend and attended several local events, according to social media posts.

He and his wife, Morgane, are reportedly friends with Ben and Erin Napier of HGTV’s “Home Town,” the Laurel Leader-Call said.

The home renovation stars also own a store in the heart of Laurel, a small town of over 18,000 in Jones County and just north of Hattiesburg.

The store, called Laurel Mercantile, posted a photo of Stapleton exiting the store with shopping bags in hand, and pointing out a handkerchief for sale, worn by Ben Napier.

“You never know who will come to town for Pancake Day!” the post read.

The Stapletons also attended the annual Kiwanis Pancake Day, the Sertoma Christmas Parade, and the Lauren Rogers Museum gala on Saturday, the Leader-Call reported.

Chris Stapleton is a Kentucky native who’s written six No. 1 songs, and in 2017 won the Country Music Awards Album of the Year and a Grammy for Best Country Album.

He’ll be back in Mississippi on March 20 for a stop on his All-American Roadshow Tour at the Coast Coliseum in Biloxi.
