The Pink Dancing Diamonds, a Gulfport hip-hop dance team, will present the Bringing Down Tha House Dance Battle Competition from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Orange Grove Elementary School in Gulfport.

Organizer Iris Jackson started the nonprofit, which helps young girls in low- to moderate-income families develop a sisterhood. The ages range from 5 to 17 years.

Jackson wanted to create a productive and passionate pastime for the young ladies to participate in.

The event will feature live performances from Young Canon, Traci Brown and Derrick Washington. The hosts of the event will be Supaman MD and Traci Brown.

Activities include a field show, creative dancing, praise dancing, coach battles and a bonus parent parade/battle.

The cost is $10 for an advance ticket and $15 at the door. The competition will be filmed for an upcoming reality show titled "It's All About Traci."
