'Mississippi Roads' to profile Bay St. Louis artist

BAY ST. LOUIS -- Mississippi Public Broadcasting will be on the Coast on Saturday to film Bay St. Louis engineer-turned-performance artist Steve Barney and his Steampunk pottery contraption, "Agile Argile."

The filmed performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Ugly Pirate on the corner of Second Street and Demontluzin Avenue. Barney will be featured on the "Mississippi Roads" TV show.

Inspired by Rube Goldberg and "Mad Potter" George Ohr, Barney hangs upside down, makes pots with his head, and does other crazy antics to make pottery.

The Hancock Tourist Development Bureau in conjunction with The Arts of Hancock County invite fans to come out and support the arts and Barney's rising acclaim.

Details: Email Barney at or call 617-834-0715.
