The Sun Herald is looking for a South Mississippi school choir that has what it takes to perform in front of a sold-out crowd and win $500 for your music program along the way.

The rock band Foreigner has sold millions albums around the world, with massive chart-topping hits such "Cold as Ice" and "Hot Blooded."

Their hit "I Want To Know What Love Is" was one the best-selling songs of 1984 and it remains one of the most popular songs of the 20th century.

The Sun Herald and Foreigner are giving your school choir the chance to sing this hit with the band in front of thousands of people Saturday, April 23, at the Hard Rock Live in Biloxi in the "Sing With Foreigner" contest.

"As far as I'm concerned, music is not only the most powerful form of communication between the peoples of the world, it provides a gateway that opens up a fantastic new dimension of feeling and creativity," Foreigner guitarist and founding member Mick Jones said. "Anything we can do to provide our young ones with the tools to express themselves through music, is our goal in this partnership. We're grateful and excited to partner with the Sun Herald on this contest for our April 23 show in Biloxi."

The contest is open to elementary, middle or high choirs choirs with up to 25 members. The winning choir and six chaperones will rehearse with the band and then join them on stage Saturday, April 23.

"We are very excited to partner with Foreigner and Hard Rock to help select a choir to perform with the band," said Kate Magandy, online editor for SunHerald. "Foreigner's soaring vocals on 'I Want To Know What Love Is" has always been highlighted with a backing choir and we can't wait to see what South Mississippi school will help bring the song to life."

Those wishing to enter should submit a video of their choir singing the song of their choice. The video must be no more than two minutes long and have a title credit at the beginning with the choir's name, school name and the director's name and contact information. This can easily be done on an iPhone or other smart phones.

The videos will then be uploaded at SunHerald.com. The video with the most complete views will win. The winner will be announced Friday, April 8.
