Fifth annual Words and Music set for Thursday

The Fifth annual Words and Music Community Culture Series will take place Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Pass Christian City Court Building, 111 Hiern Ave.

It will feature New Orleans actress, playwright, educator and storyteller Jennifer Pagan performing "The Shoebox Lounge." Pagan will channel between nine characters using the central metaphor of shoeboxes and closets as places where things are hid. The Friends of the Library are the main sponsor for the event. Black History Month Art Show hosted in Moss Point

The Ina Thompson Moss Point Library, 4119 Bellview St., will host a Black History Month Art Show during the month of February during library hours in the library. Patrons may visit the show featuring local African-American artists and craftsmen.

Artwork includes drawings, paintings, photographs and wood crafts and will be displayed throughout the library, including the Ruth Horn Meeting Room, the library display case, and areas of the main library. The local artists exhibiting will be Leroy Williams, Larry Woodson, Chris Harper, James Toles, Sheldon Moffett, and others. Details: 475-7462.

Volunteers needed for 'Odd Couple' in Pass Christian

The Pass Christian Theatre Project are seeking volunteers for the production, "The Odd Couple" for Feb. 25-28 at the Randolph Center, 315 Clark Ave.

The volunteers will need to arrive at 5:30 p.m. and stay until after the show ends. Ushers, concession, box office help and po-boy servers are needed. Details: passtheatre@aol.com.
