NBC cancels 'Brilliant Minds,' 'Stumble'

May 2 (UPI) -- NBC has canceled its medical drama Brilliant Minds after two seasons and its cheerleader comedy Stumble after one.

The Hollywood Reporter, Variety and TVLine reported the news Friday.

Low ratings were blamed for the series' demises.

Zachary Quinto played real-life neurology physician Oliver Wolf in Brilliant Minds, which was based on the books The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat and An Anthropologist on Mars.

The ensemble includes Tamberla Perry, Ashleigh LaThrop, Alex MacNicoll, Aury Krebs, Spence Moore II, Teddy Sears, Donna Murphy, John Clarence Stewart, Brian Altemus and Al Calderon.

The show will begin wrapping up its second season with the first of six episodes on May 27.

Stumble starred Jenn Lyon, Taran Killam, Ryan Pinkston, Jarrett Austin Brown, Anissa Borrego, Arianna Davis, Taylor Dunbar and Georgie Murphy. Its finale aired in March.
