Black Spring Break returns to South MS, but will the crowds? Here’s schedule, beach rules
AI-generated summary reviewed by our newsroom.

Crowds will return to the beaches in South Mississippi this weekend as Black Spring Break is back in Biloxi and Gulfport from April 9 to 12.
How large those crowds will be, though, is anyone’s guess. Black Spring Break 2025 saw a significantly smaller turnout than in years past, according to those who were here.
“It’s dead this year,” Antoine Taylor said to the Sun Herald last year. Taylor travels to Biloxi from Brandon for the event annually. Taylor said his family’s construction company owns a lot in the area behind Surf Style, which is across from the beach where spring breakers normally gather. In past years, Taylor says they’ve allowed spring breakers to park on the lot for a donation. Last year, though, he said no one is parked on the land.
Law enforcement, dozens of whom could be seen patrolling among the beachgoers throughout the weekend, also noticed the change. “So far, this is one of the lightest crowds that we’ve seen for this weekend,” Sgt. Candace Young, a public information officer with the Biloxi Police Department, told the Sun Herald at the time.
The weather looks as though it will cooperate, as the forecast is for sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-to-upper 70s throughout the weekend.
Events
Scheduled events are planned for Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Additionally, pop-up events routinely happen throughout the weekend.
- THURSDAY: Worst Behavior PJs and Lingerie Party is scheduled for 9 p.m. at The Press Box Daiquiri Lounge at 1302 27th Avenue in Gulfport.
- FRIDAY: Twerk Fest vs Napkin Wars “T99ZY & FLYSTAR” Live is scheduled for 8 p.m. at the Good Deeds Community Center at 15101 Madison Street in Gulfport.
- SATURDAY: Freak Nik Day Party is scheduled for 1 p.m. at The Press Box Daiquiri Lounge at 1302 27th Avenue in Gulfport.

Parking
Spring breakers can park in the bays along Beach Boulevard, just like any other weekend, but can only take up one space and not pull behind something like a barbecue trailer. Parking also is not allowed in neighborhoods.
There aren’t any concerts or events at the Coast Coliseum in Biloxi this year, so the parking lots and garage won’t be open.
Traffic
Those who don’t want to get into the Spring Break traffic should stay away from the beach and Pass Road on Friday night and Saturday afternoon into the night, when traffic typically is heaviest.
If needed, the inner lanes of traffic along Beach Boulevard will be closed to all but emergency personnel, while the outside lanes remain open.
The areas to watch for people crossing the highway to the beach in Biloxi extend from Treasure Bay Casino to Edgewater Mall.
