They’ve been named country music’s best group 7 years in a row. They’re coming to South MS
The CMA Country Music Group of the Year for seven years running wants to “take it outside” for its 2025 tour that will make a stop in South Mississippi.
Old Dominion will play The Sound Amphitheater in Gautier on June 12, with special guests Ernest and Redferrin.
Tickets start at $49.99 plus fees and will be available to the public starting at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 28. For early access, fans can sign up for presale and get their tickets 24 hours earlier at 10 a.m. on Feb. 27.
Best known for hits “One Man Band,” “Snapback, ”Memory Lane” and “Coming Home,” Old Dominion has won the Country Music Association’s group of the year award for seven straight years.
After a year of playing major festivals across the country, the band decided this year to play outdoor venues, under the stars.
Their “How Good Is That — World Tour” will play amphitheaters, small stadiums, and select venues across the country including The Sound Amphitheater in Gautier.
“There’s something special about the energy when you’re outside,” says lead singer/guitarist Matthew Ramsey. “It’s a whole other vibe. When you’re out there under the stars, that energy amplifies everything we’re doing. So after a year of playing all the festivals, it was the only way to match that crazy energy.”
Rolling Stone called Old Dominion “one of mainstream country music’s most popular live groups.”
They began playing bars across the Southeast and have written hits for Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Sam Hunt and other country singers.
“If there’s one thing we learned from our summers playing shows and festivals,” Ramsey said, “it’s that you can create one really great party by bringing people with you who share your energy, commitment to the fans and desire to really have fun on that stage. Everybody we’re bringing with us knows how to have a great time up there, and they share our love for the people who love our music. I can’t wait to get these evenings started.”
As part of their summer tour, Old Dominion will support the work of Save the Music nonprofit that partners with public schools to provide new musical instruments, technology, equipment, and resources for music teachers.
