Legendary performers of the ’80s are headed to South MS for night full of classic hits

Those who know the words to 1980s classics like “Love Somebody,” “Missing You” and “Dance Hall Days” will want to be in the crowd singing along when “I Want My ‘80s Tour” comes to South Mississippi.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday for the concert that will feature ‘80s stars who will sing their classics on Sunday, June 1 at The Sound Amphitheater in Gautier.

The tour will bring to The Sound:

Rick Springfield, who can be expected to perform his hit “Jessie’s Girl” when he takes the stage. The Grammy Award winner also is known for his “Don’t Talk to Strangers” and “Love Somebody.”

John Waite had chart-topping singles like “Missing You” and “When I See You Smile” (with Bad English).

Wang Chung band had some of the most recognizable ‘80s anthems, including “Everybody Have Fun Tonight” and “Dance Hall Days.”

John Cafferty is best known for his hits “On the Dark Side” and “Tender Years.” His music, immortalized in “Eddie and the Cruisers,” is a piece of ‘80s rock history

Tickets start at $43.50 plus fees and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday. Fans can sign up now for the presale to get priority access to tickets on Wednesday, Feb. 12.
