Extra, extra: Earn $100 for a day’s work and appear in movie shooting on Mississippi Coast
Extras are being recruited through a casting call for a feature film being shot on the Mississippi Coast.
Pay is $100 for eight hours’ work — or $12.50 an hour — delivered on set, according to a Facebook post from Morgan Casting, a company founded by Mississippi native Matthew Morgan.
The casting call is for the film “Come With Me,” which shoots Sept. 11, 12, and 20 on the Coast. Extras in their 30s are being sought, of all genders and ethnicities.
“In addition to the backyard BBQ, we need folks for a funeral scene as well as a scene set in a bar,” the Facebook post says.
Anyone interested should send two photographs, a head shot and one full length, to CastingWithMe@gmail.com. Other details about applying can be found in the Facebook post.
Morgan Casting owner Matthew Morgan, who was born in McComb and raised in Canton, has been casting for more than 20 years for films, TV series and commercials, according to the Mississippi Film Office, which features a Q&A with him on its website.
If you’re looking to break into acting, rather than just a quick pay-day as an extra, here’s his advice from the Q&A: “Go out for every opportunity possible. Always audition. With each audition, you get better and better. What you think just was the worst audition ever, probably was your worst. And it can only get better from there.”
