What to do on the MS Coast this weekend: Cannabis event, Crawfish Fest, more

The summer festival unofficially starts with this weekend’s Crawfish Festival at the Coast Coliseum in Biloxi.

The annual celebration of the Deep South boiled seafood delicacy comes with rides and games for the kids and hot crawfish and entertainment.

Here is the list of top entertainment and events for this weekend, April 22-24, and beyond:

Thursday through Sunday — Crawfish Music Festival on the grounds of Coast Coliseum, Biloxi. Rides, games, crawfish and other food. Headliners are Whiskey Myers on Friday, Jelly Roll on Saturday and Koe Wetzel on Sunday. Crawfish Cookoff Saturday at 1 p.m. Hours are Thursday-Friday 5-11 p.m., Saturday 1-11 p.m., Sunday 1-8 p.m. Admission fee. Concert tickets at an additional price.

Friday — Earth Day Party at Mississippi Aquarium, Gulfport. 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Activities include kickoff of new conservation program, a bird feeder craft, composting demonstration. Price with aquarium admission: $26.95 adults, $24.25 seniors $22.45 child

Saturday — Walking on Water on Biloxi Bay Bridge to benefit FeedingTheGulfCoast.org. Starts at 9:30 a.m. at Point Cadet Pavilion. Biloxi. Community teams pledge to raise $200.

Saturday — Mississippi Heroes Celebration presented by Alice Moseley Folk Art & Antique Museum at Commagere Park, Bookter Street and St. Francis Street, Bay St Louis. Festival begins at 10 a.m., live music at 11 a.m. Arts and crafts, food, kids’ area.

Saturday — Seabee Day is returns after five years at Naval Construction Battalion Center Gulfport from noon-5 p.m. Free and open to the public, with buses providing transportation from Milner Park, 1403 38th Ave. Gulfport. Military displays and demos. Music by Voodoo Gumbo and Six String Andrew.

Saturday — Cannabis Festival at the District Green, 785 Howard Ave., Biloxi. Music plus educational sessions address accessibility to medical marijuana, jobs and careers in the industry and other topics. Noon-11 p.m. Must be 21 or older to attend.

Saturday and Sunday — Celtic Woman Postcards from Ireland performance at Beau Rivage Resort and Casino, Biloxi. 7 p.m. Tickets start at $24.95

April 26-May 1 — Biloxi Shuckers vs. Pensacola Blue Wahoos at MGM Park, Biloxi. Games start at 6:35 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and at 1:05 p.m. Sunday. Tickets start at $7.
