That’s so fetch! (Or whatever Gretchen Wieners said in “Mean Girls.”)

Lacey Chabert, a Mississippi native and well-known actress who has had hit roles in TV and film, has signed a deal with Crown Media Family Networks to headline and serve as executive producer on movies for Hallmark Channel over the next two years.

The network announced the deal Monday with Chabert, who has been a steady presence in Hallmark Channel films for over a decade.

As part of the deal, Chabert will help develop other content for Hallmark Channel and other Hallmark platforms as well.

Chabert is from Purvis, a small town just outside of Hattiesburg in South Mississippi.

She is perhaps best known for her role as the heiress to the inventor of Toaster Strudels on the hit film, “Mean Girls,” which she starred in alongside Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams. She also played Claudia on the Fox television series “Party of Five” that won a Golden Globe award in 1996.

But since 2010, when she made her Hallmark Channel debut, she has starred in some of the network’s most popular movies, Crown Media said in a news release. She has appeared in at least 30 films — typically romances, according to Forbes.

“My experience at Hallmark, a home to me for over 10 years now, has been wonderful and it’s beyond rewarding to create characters and develop stories that resonate so strongly with viewers,” Chabert said in the release. “I’m also incredibly grateful to Crown’s programming team for supporting me as a producer and empowering me to develop and star in projects that bring my passion and creative vision to life. I am so excited for what’s next and to continue connecting with Hallmark’s audience.”

Most recently, Chabert developed, starred and served as executive producer in “The Wedding Veil,” a Hallmark Channel movie trilogy that premiered on Jan. 8. It became an instant hit, Crown Media said, registering as the second most-watched non-holiday movie among households and women over 18 in network history.
