KISS cancels meet and greet at Biloxi concert amid coronavirus concerns
The KISS concert will go on Sunday at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum, although the rock band is being cautious and calling off the meet and greet event at the Ides of March concert in Biloxi.
The ribbon cutting for the Rock & Brews casino in East Biloxi also is postponed.
KISS announced through a statement and email to those who bought VIP upgrades that meet and greet events are canceled at all the shows until further notice due to the concern over coronavirus.
The email said the cost of the VIP upgrade will be refunded after 10 days.
“After many discussions with experts in the field, we have been advised to temporarily cancel these events given the reality that we do this nightly for a hundred or more fans,” KISS manager Don McGhee said in his statement to Blabbermouth.
Special guest David Lee Roth from Van Halen will also join KISS in Biloxi as part of the “End of the Road” World Tour.
The ribbon cutting for the proposed Rock & Brews casino in East Biloxi is postponed until further notice.
KISS frontmen Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, who are partnering with developers to build the casino, were scheduled to take part in a public ribbon cutting at the former Margaritaville casino in East Biloxi.
“Although the ribbon cutting ceremony will have to wait, we are excited that a Rock & Brews Casino Hotel in Biloxi is coming soon,” said Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley in a joint statement.
“The rock n’ roll experience that Rock & Brews brings to the Gulf Coast is expected to transform dining, hospitality, and entertainment experiences to the next level,” said Adam Goldberg, CEO of Rock & Brews.
There have been no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi as of Tuesday afternoon. Six coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the New Orleans area.
