Jessica Colby said she always wanted to move to California.
When she graduated from D’Iberville High School in 2010, she saved her money and made it to the West Coast in 2012.
Colby, a student, will be making her national television debut at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday on the GSN show “Divided.” And if she wins, she will take home a portion of $85,000.
“I had a friend on social media who messaged me and asked me if I wanted to try out for the show, so I decided to do it,” Colby said. “The audition process was much different than I thought it would be — I had to audition twice for it.”
“Divided” is a 30-minute that features four contestants who must come to a consensus on the answers to each of the questions they are given. The longer it takes for them to answer, the less prize money there is to be awarded.
“The more the players argue, disagree or dig in their heels, the less money becomes available to them,” the show’s website says.
“Divided” is hosted by Mike Richards.
“I love working on a team, but they purposely put you with people of different backgrounds,” she said. “Our team started out OK, but it got a little crazy in the end.”
Colby said she has no further plans to peruse acting.
“I’m a college student and I have my own goals,” she said. “But if someone presented me a great opportunity like this again, I would probably do it.”
