Governor’s son has two holes in one

in same round

STAFF AND WIRE REPORTS

Reeves Barbour pulled a rare accomplishment in golf last week at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course in Virginia.

The son of Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour hit two holes-in-one during the same round on Sunday. The feat was reported by WJLA-TV, an ABC affiliate in Washington, D.C.

“I’m real grateful that it actually happened,’’ Barbour told the station this week. “It was awesome.”

Barbour called his father back at the State capital in Jackson after the feat, which Golf Digest called a “67 million in one chance to pull it off.”

“Everyone was excited for me. My dad, mom, brother and friends,” Reeves Barbour said.

Vice President Joe Biden played on the course that same afternoon and heard of Barbour’s feat. Biden and Gov. Barbour discussed the daily double during a conference call with U.S. governors.

“The Vice President asked my dad if he knew that I hit two holes in one,’’ Reeves Barbour recalled. “He said, ‘Yes sir I did.’ The Vice-President asked my dad would I willing to give him tips and play a round of golf with him. I told him it would be my honor to play with the vice president.”
