A press conference will be held today at 11 a.m. at the Jefferson Davis campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College as Cellular South representatives unveil details of their TV coverage of Friday’s Biloxi-Gulfport high school football game.

The game will be telecast at 7:20 p.m. at Indian Stadium in Biloxi, one of five rivalry games in Cellular South’s “Y’all vs. Us” integrated sports programming and customer engagement program this fall..

The game will feature NFL-caliber pyrotechnics, professional skydivers, aerial video and a giant Jumbotron video messaging and display board.

Opposing head coaches Mike Justice of Gulfport and Steve Jones of Biloxi will touch briefly on the history of the 100-plus year rivalry between the two teams, the significance of the match up and their predictions for the game while Biloxi Mayor A. J. Holloway and Gulfport City Council President Ricky Dombroski will reveal their friendly “bragging rights” wager on the outcome of the game.

The Biloxi-Gulfport rivalry is one of the oldest in Mississippi. The two teams initially played in 1908 and the series was uninterrupted from 1920 through 1957. It resumed in 1968 to the present.
