Moss Point senior Lamarcus Harris has been released from the hospital and is “doing fine” following an injury during his team's game at Long Beach, according to head coach Willie Brown.
Harris was taken to Memorial Hospital at Gulfport in an ambulance Friday after he was injured during a collision with a teammate.
“His CAT Scan came back and the results were negative. It showed no damage,” Brown said. “He's able to move his limbs.”
Harris, a defensive end, was injured when he ran into one of his teammates while trying to make a tackle in the offensive backfield.
Never miss a local story.
Harris was down on the field for a significant amount of time before he was carried off on a stretcher. He gave a thumbs up sign to the crowd as he was carted off.
“That is something we don't ever want to see,” Brown said. “It was a scary moment. He's a tough kid and he'll bounce back.”
Moss Point is 3-2 following its 40-14 win at Long Beach Friday night.
