A pair of Southern Miss football players were arrested Wednesday by Hattiesburg police on charges of armed robbery, burglary of an occupied dwelling and kidnapping.
The players charged in the incident are junior receiver James Cox and senior receiver Kyle Foster.
The incident happened prior to 7 a.m. Wednesday in the 900 block of Beverly Hills Road in Hattiesburg, Lt. David Traxler said Tuesday.
Both men were booked into the Forrest County Jail at about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Cox played in 11 games last season, starting three. He caught 15 passes for 215 yards and two touchdowns.
Foster started five of the nine games he played in a year ago after transferring in from Dodge City (Kan.) Community College. He caught 12 passes for 168 yards.
Cox and Foster were considered second-string receivers at the conclusion of spring practice.
