Southern Miss quarterback Nick Mullens, who has missed most of the past three games because of an injury to his right foot, is expected to get back in action Thursday night in a Conference USA game against UTSA in San Antonio.
“We anticipate Nick will play,” Southern Miss coach Todd Monken said.
Cole Weeks replaced Mullens as the starting quarterback since Mullens was injured against Louisiana Tech on Oct. 25.
Mullens, a sophomore, was playing some of his best football of the season before he was injured. He has completed 59.9 percent of his passes for 1,950 yards with 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions this season.
The USM-UTSA game will be shown at 7 p.m. Thursday on the CBS Sports Network.
