East Central pitcher/third baseman Eric Saksa has verbally committed to attend Pearl River Community College, he said Tuesday.
Saksa, who is coming off a strong junior season, said he had his sights set on PRCC for a while and was comfortable enough with head coach Josh Hoffpauir to go ahead and commit.
Sasksa likes PRCC's tradition of developing players who go on to compete in Division I baseball.
Saksa said he hopes to play third base for the Wildcats and work out of the bullpen as maybe a closer.
Never miss a local story.
A strong defensive player, Saksa batted .291 with 16 RBI this year for the Hornets.
On the mound, Saksa was 6-3 with a 1.62 ERA.
