Former Vancleave pitcher Tyler Buckley has been named to New York-Penn League all-star team.
Buckley has thrown well this season out of the bullpen for the Williamsport (Pa.) Crosscutters with a 0.93 ERA in 19.1 innings over 13 appearances for the Class A short-season squad.
The 6-foot-5 right-hander played at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College before playing two seasons at Arkansas-Little Rock.
Buckley was picked by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 27th round of the Major League Baseball draft in June.
The all-star game will be held Aug. 13 at Dodd Stadium in Norwich, Conn.
