Tori Bowie cruised Saturday into the finals of the women’s 200-meter dash at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon.
The former Southern Miss track standout ran a blazing time of 22.27 in the semifinals.
Deajah Stevens was a distant second at 22.45 and Allyson Felix was third at 22.57.
Bowie is looking to clinch her second spot on the U.S. Olympic team. The 200-meter finals are at 7:11 p.m. Sunday.
“I like the 200m because it is my best event,” Bowie said. “I’m really looking forward to Rio.”
The 25-year-old earned her first Olympic berth July 3 when she qualified in the 100 meters with a time of 10.78 in the trials.
Bowie is considered a favorite to win both the 100 meters and 200 meters at the Rio Olympics, which will be Aug. 5-21.
