Gov. Haley Barbour today signed into law House Bill 705 granting the authority for the state to issue a commemorative vehicle tag honoring the New Orleans Saints’ 2009 NFL championship.
Some of the proceeds from the sale of the tags will go toward the Infinity Project at the Stennis Space Center in Hancock County.
HB 705 will award $44 of the $50 license tag fee to Infinity, which is an interactive science center being built as a partnership with the Stennis Space Center in Hancock County. It is a $40 million, 72,000-square foot facility located on 200 acres adjacent to the Welcome Center at Exit 2 on I-10.
The law went into effect with the governor's signature.
