Biloxi Shuckers outfielder Kyle Wren was called up to Triple-A Colorado Springs on Tuesday and starting pitcher Hiram Burgos is expected to soon join him there.
Wren closed out his stint in Biloxi on a hot streak, raising his batting average to .300 and earning a spot on the Southern League South All-Star Team.
Wren, who was acquired by the Milwaukee Brewers from the Atlanta Braves in the offseason, has 20 stolen bases in 29 attempts and 26 runs scored in 60 games with the Shuckers this season.
Burgos was placed on the temporary inactive list Tuesday as he prepares to make the jump to Colorado Springs.
Never miss a local story.
The right-handed Burgos has been working his way back after a shoulder injury ended his 2013 season with the Brewers after six starts.
Burgos was 3-0 in five starts in Biloxi with a 3.68 ERA. He had 36 strikeouts and 12 walks in 29.1 innings.
To replace Wren, power-hitting outfielder Victor Roache has been promoted to Biloxi from Advanced-A Brevard County, Fla.
Roache has 50 homers in three years as a pro, including 10 this season in 239 at-bats at Brevard County. He is batting .259 with 11 doubles and 36 RBIs.
