Biloxi junior guard Fred Ramsey-Thompson and Harrison Central senior forward Adyn Strickland are the Sun Herald Players of the Week after leading their teams to big playoff wins over Jackson area teams last week.
Ramsey-Thompson is the Boys Player of the Week after scoring 22 points in a 64-61 win at Forest Hill on Saturday to clinch a spot in the Class 6A quarterfinals in Jackson.
Ramsey-Thompson hit a 3-pointer with 1 minute to go to give his team the lead for good at Forest Hill.
Biloxi will play Starkville at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Mississippi Coliseum to make its first trip to the state tournament in Jackson since 2012.

Ramsey-Thompson averaged 19 points in two playoff wins last week as the Indians also beat D'Iberville, 55-37.
Strickland is the Girls Player of the Week after scoring 17 points in Harrison Central's come-from-behind 55-54 win over Terry on Friday.
Strickland scored 10 points in the third quarter to spark the rally for the Red Rebelettes.
The Harrison Central girls will play Callaway at 4 p.m. Saturday at Jackson State in the Class 6A quarterfinals.
