Christian Collegiate Academy downed North Sunflower Academy 55-34 on Friday night.
CCA quarterback Devan Roberts had 167 rushing yards and three touchdowns.
“I’m doing my job with the guys around me,” Devan Roberts said. “Our whole team played great.”
CCA running back T.J. Clolinger had 72 rushing yards and three scores.
Never miss a local story.
“Nobody covered me and Devan put the ball right on the money and we scored,” Clolinger said.
The game was close until CCA pulled away in the second half.
“The first half we let our emotions get the better of us,” CCA coach Joe Roberts said. The second half we had to take a deep breath, and control what we can do. We can’t let bad plays take us out of a football game.”
CCA LB Devin Lewis had two tackles for loss and two sacks.
“I could tell when I got to the line that the offensive tackle was tired,” Lewis said. “I got under him, got around him and made a few plays.”
Roberts feels good about the unbeaten Bulldogs (11-0) heading into the second round of the playoffs.
“We’ve worked hard,” Roberts said. “If we play the way we have practiced all off-season and throughout the whole season, I think we have the ability to go all the way to the State Championship.”
