BAY ST. LOUIS-- St. Stanislaus used stifling defense and big-play offense in the second half to surge to a 41-14 victory over the Moss Point Tigers 'between the walls' in Bay St. Louis.
Myles Brennan lit the gridiron up passing for 415 yards and two touchdowns on 20-for-26 passing, leading St. Stanislaus to the Region 8-4A title.
The Rocks (6-3, 4-0) enjoyed a 21-8 lead at intermission.
Moss Point (4-5, 1-3) lit the scoreboard first when Omni Wells scored on a nine-yard run in the first quarter. Wells also converted on a two-point conversion to make the score 8-0.
SSC ripped off three touchdowns to end the first half.
Cahill Marlowe scored on a six-yard run followed by a Brennan-to-Darius Pittman five-yard scoring toss and a three-yard scoring run by Andrew Trapani. Mason Favre converted on all three PATs to make the score 21-8.
Moss Point opened the scoring in the second half with a 57-yard scoring run by Wells. Tommy Reeder blocked the PAT to keep the score 21-14.
Again, the Rocks ripped off three unanswered touchdowns to close the game out.
Marlowe scored from four yards out followed by a Brennan-to-Chase Rogers 55-yard scoring toss and a one-yard scoring run by Trapani. Favre was 2-for-3 on the PATs to make the final score.
Wells led Moss Point with 27 carries for 149 yards and two scores.
Chase Rogers now has 1,100 yards receiving on the season as he collected four passes for 143 yards and a touchdown for SSC. Owen Betz added three catches for 122 yards followed by Darius Pittman with five catches for 56 yards and Corbin Blanchard with four catches for 62 yards.
The win gave SSC a 12-7-1 advantage in the series with Moss Point that dates back to the 1930s.
Moss Point hosts Bay High and St. Stanislaus travels to Pass Christian next Friday to close out the regular season.
