Former West Harrison product Kristen Sexton is heading to the next level. The former Hurricane — and current Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Bulldog — signed to play softball at William Carey on Monday.
As a freshman at MGCCC in 2017, Sexton hit .396 with a .437 on-base percentage and .490 slugging percentage. She also recorded 31 runs scored, 15 doubles and 42 RBIs.
During her senior season at WHHS, Sexton hit .423 with seven doubles and 17 RBIs. The year before she hit .374 with eight doubles and 19 RBIs. She also was named to numerous showcases as a high-schooler, including the Mississippi Association of Coaches’ all-star game and the Gulf Coast All-Star Game.
