Mississippi State defensive tackle Chris Jones was the first Mississippi player picked on day two of the NFL Draft.
Jones was picked by the Kansas City Chiefs in round two on Friday. He was the 37th player picked.
The 6-foot-6 Jones was projected as a mid-to-late first round pick, but slipped into the second round.
Jones tested well at the NFL Combine.

Jones played high school ball at Houston before signing with MSU. As a junior, he had 18 tackles for loss and 8 1-2 sacks in his three-year career.
The San Francisco 49ers picked MSU defensive back Will Redmond in the third round.
