Southern Miss, due to a threat of inclement weather, has canceled a scheduled baseball game with South Alabama set for today.
The game, originally set for 6 p.m., was moved to 3 p.m. at Pete Taylor Park in Hattiesburg to try to get the game in ahead of forecasted rain. But the weather moved in more quickly than expected.
A makeup date will be announced later.
Southern Miss (8-3) had announced that former St. Stanislaus star Boomer Scarborough would be the starting pitcher against USA. Scarborough will have to wait again for his start.
