New Pearl River Community College coach David Saunders is still working to finalize his first coaching staff with signing day only a few weeks out.
Throughout the week, PRCC's new football twitter account has been active documenting the week's official visitors.
Among the tweets are photos of visitors like St. Martin's Tyler Polk, George County's Brandon Walley and Pascagoula's Jakwaize Walker.
They've also shared photos of the recruits touring campus and checking out the Wildcats' facilities.
Never miss a local story.
And then there was a video of former Ole Miss standout Jerrell Powe, identified as PRCC's defensive line coach, showing off his basketball skills for the recruits. It looks like the 6-foot-2, 331-pound NFL veteran is looking to return to the Magnolia State.
There's still some question as to Powe's definite role with PRCC, however, as he recently signed a reserve/futures contract with the Washington Redskins.
While Powe was a two-time All-SEC second team honoree at Ole Miss, recording 69 total tackles with 24 tackles for loss and seven sacks, he hasn't been able to find his footing in the NFL.
Powe was drafted in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL draft by the Kansas City Chiefs but played sparingly, recording just eight total tackles and one sack in 12 games over three seasons. Powe signed with the Houston Texans in 2014 and recorded 10 tackles in 16 games, including three starts. Although he was signed by Washington in June 2015, he never saw the field.
Because Powe was not on an active roster this season, he was eligible to sign a non-guaranteed reserve/futures contract for the upcoming league year, which will commence in March.
While Powe's status with PRCC is still somewhat in the air, Saunders has finalized most of his staff.
Derrick LeBlanc returns to PRCC as the defensive coordinator. He was the defensive line coach last year.
Kelvin Bolden is the other carry-over from William Jones' staff. Bolden, a former standout at Ocean Springs, Gulf Coast C.C. and Southern Miss, will retain his position as receivers coach.
Cleo Lemon joins the staff as offensive coordinator. Lemon is a NFL and CFL veteran who was a receivers coach at The University of Findley in Ohio.
Zach Lochard will be PRCC's offensive line coach and academic advisory. Lochard was most recently the offensive line coach at Central Lafourche (La.) High. He also served as a graduate assistant with Saunders at Louisiana-Lafayette.
Tim Egger is Saunders' new defensive backs coach. Last season, the New York native was the defensive coordinator at Concordia University, St. Paul (Minn.), a D-2 school.
New QB: PRCC has added former Wisconsin four-star quarterback D.J. Gillins, according to his Twitter account. The Jacksonville, Fla., native was recruited by Gary Anderson but moved to receiver under new Badgers coach Paul Chryst. He did not record a pass or catch in 2015.
"It's been real UW, I had fun playing a little WR and special teams this year," Gillins posted on his Instagram post prior to transferring. "Now, I'm going back to what I do best. Unfortunately, that will not happen in Madison."
