Thank you

We had 395 children visit our home for Halloween (we have less than 10 trick or treat-aged children in our neighborhood), of that number, 159 said “thank you.” If you are going to come into my neighborhood please have the courtesy to say “thanks.”

Win-win solution

Yesterday we received a card from the Biloxi Water Department stating that as of November they would be attaching a $7.50 charge for the bi-weekly garbage pick-up. While visiting friends in Alabama and Florida this summer we noticed that both of those places have weekly garbage pick-up. However, I did notice everybody had their recycle bins out each week, as well. It would seem a better solution for both the environment and our pocketbooks to simply start picking up the garbage once a week. It would cost us much less as consumers, and it would force those old die-hards to do the right thing and recycle. With the economy like it is, and the water bills going up, we sure could use a break on our garbage pick up fee. It’s a win-win situation.

How can this be?

North Woolmarket School is out of paper. They are offering children extra points to bring printer paper to school, which I find ridiculous. I wonder how on Earth a school can be out of paper and why on Earth they would be making it the children’s responsibility to replenish. I am constantly being asked for supplies that the school provided in the past. We all know that teachers spend a lot out of pocket and now the parents are, too.

Leave kids at home

Please leave your kids and strollers at home and come and enjoy the Peter Anderson Festival. They get in the way of my dogs.

Parental problem

I know this is whiney, but I am so tired. I have come to terms with the fact that I shall never receive payments nor get justice from my deadbeat parent. Just like all the other parents who rely on our state systems with no resolve. So to you absent parent I give up, I have been fighting for eight years now. Apparently you are stronger than me and my state system who is supposed to be helping us. Many people have told me to hire an attorney. If I had the money to do that, I would not need child support. Thanks to all for listening. Sorry for whining, Sound Off. I love you for creating a wonderful way to praise, complain, help or listen.

American dream

Its not the Confederate States of America. It’s not the United Socialists States of America. Its not the Democratic States of America, and its not the Republican States of America. It’s the United States Of America and when we get back to that idea, we will not have any more problems. One group of people on the same page ... I only wish.
