Silly complaint

I have read a lot of funny and outlandish things in the Sound Off, but the question of the Biloxi lighthouse took the cake. That Lighthouse has been a part of the Coast for a long as I can remember, and I’m 68 years old. I remember taking my granddaughter there, and we got to go up inside. She was thrilled. She is now 25 years old. I don’t care who pays for the upkeep, state, government or city. If I was rich I would. Please find something else to gripe about.

Clean up the roadside

What is up with the trash on I-10 in Harrison County? Tons of tire pieces, plastic tubs and general garbage make this highway a disgrace. How can we ever present a positive image to others if it looks like we live in a garbage dump?

In Dems we trust

The Dems are saying “Trust me. The health care plan will definitely not have the problems that Medicare has, that Amtrak has, that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have, that Social Security has, that the war on poverty has.” Now that’s “change you can believe in”?

Senseless

Common sense would tell you not to speed on Halloween, because there are so many children in the streets, especially in residential neighborhoods. I guess that just goes to show not many people have common sense these days.

Expensive for all

The U.S. dollar has lost 17.4 percent in value against the euro in the last six months of the Obama administration. Obama may put a spin on not taxing the middle class, but his policies are surely going to raise the cost of living for everyone, including those who voted for him based on his charisma instead of his experience.

Could it be. . .

In response to the Sound Off about why the Biloxi lighthouse is there, did it ever occur to you that lighthouses also guide ships through fog?

Where are they?

Where are the elaborate churches the Sound Off person is talking about? I would love to know and attend. The churches here are mostly very old and in bad parts of town. I would love for there to be large, elaborate churches around here, but unfortunately this is the worst place for beautiful churches.

Too sensible

The person who wrote a letter to the editor suggesting making the eastbound Diamondhead exit a right-turn only, looping around and coming back over the I-10 overpass will not work in this nation. Why? It would make complete sense. Something the vast majority in this 400-year-old empire building nation don’t have.
