Got the mojo working

Saw the sound off in today’s paper about the person who put their Saints Jersey back on and the Saints won. Their must be more of us. At the end of the first quarter of the game Sunday, the Saints were getting beaten. I realized I had forgotten something. Every game this year I have worn a Saints jersey. Not just any jersey, but my Archie Manning No. 8 jersey. But, I had forgotten to “suit up.” I ran to my bedroom, got the jersey on and blackened my eyes. The rest is history!

Dogma delusions

Conservatives are often criticized for their leaps of faith — religious beliefs in dogma that science cannot prove. Seems that liberals, too, have their “leaps of faith” — that the government can run health care efficiently, that government can educate our children and that government can help the poor throw off their shackles of welfare entitlement.

Anyone know?

Who recycles plastic grocery bags?

Can you see it?

Does anyone else see the irony of Republican senators, such as ours, who receive excellent health coverage paid for by taxpayers, fighting against any health care reform that actually might help citizens?

Untouchable?

I guess, Gene Taylor is a “sacred cow” and off limits in the Sun Herald rag, eh? Don’t say anything bad about him even when he is wrong. Nothing biased about the Sun Herald rag, now is there!

No thanks to them

I see on the news where Dick Cheney is critical of the president for not rushing in another 40,000 troops to Afghanistan. This is after he and George Bush wasted eight years doing nothing and taking us into a needless war in Iraq.

Future speak

Will specialty shops in the future be called Slim & Trim rather than Big & Tall?

Help for churches?

With all this money being thrown around is there any out there for churches? We received no money after the storm from anyone. We have lost so many of our membership that we are now in need of help. Where can a church, struggling to survive, go to ask for help, other than from the obvious who says he helps those who help themselves.

Take action

I would like to ask the callers that when they “sound off” about a problem with speeders in a city or county, do they bother to call that agency and make a complaint? Do not assume that they sit around and read the Sound Offs to find out what complaints are going on in their city/county. Also, you, have the right to file charges against speeders, people who litter, etc. Get the tag number and description of the vehicle if possible.
