What about Gulfport?

If MDOT can make a service road for a new shopping center in Wiggins, give D’Iberville flybys, then why can’t MDOT do the same in Gulfport? A service road from Turkey Creek north to I-10 then from I-10 north to at least O’Neal road would sure be better and safer than what is there now. What are median strips going to do? It’s going to pile up traffic at the existing red lights and make for a traffic nightmare.

Message delivered

Today we had a pigeon with double bands; one on each leg. There was recently a Sound Off about the same thing. Someone must have lost their birds, because this one wasn’t scared of my husband or my dog. It just sat a few feet away and stared at them.

Howdy!

Well, the Saints are back.

Here’s an idea

While I read with great interest about MDOT wanting to put in median strips on U.S. 49, I do have a question. While I agree that something needs to be done to stop motor vehicles from darting across three lanes of traffic and a turn lane, my question is how are people going north supposed to turn left into a business on the west side of 49 or how about people going south wanting to turn into a business on the east side. If MDOT is going to put something up to stop people from darting across then that will in effect eliminate the left turn lane going north and south on 49. Instead of a median strip how about making all turns onto 49 right turns only and then make U-turns at a traffic light.

Thanks for the help

Would just like to say thank you to the firefighter from Diamondhead, who was kind enough to stop and change a tire for me on Monday morning. Still made it to work on time. Thank you again!

Lost ring

My sister-in-law lost her husband of 45 years this past February to cancer. They were pretty much inseparable for all those years. She had their two wedding bands fused into one after his death. This ring was lost recently in Gulfport. She and her son went to Lowes and Hood’s, then to TGIF for dinner, with a final stop at Lifeway Book Store. They left the book store just as it was closing at 9 p.m. Please, if anyone has found this ring, please contact Sound Off. Thanks Sound Off for printing this plea. We need a miracle.

Thanks for coming

Hello, we just want to take this opportunity to thank all the nice folks who came out, even in the rain, to enjoy my Banjo-pick’in at the Mississippi Pecan Festival July 25-27. Mississippi is known for its heartwarming hospitality, and we weren’t let down. Also, I’d like the chance to thank the Fulmers, who are over the festival, and the Coopers, let me play on WOSM Radio. God Bless you all.
