GAUTIER - A felon accused in the stabbing death of his on-again, off-again, live-in girlfriend waived his initial court appearance this afternoon and is set for a preliminary hearing in the case on Aug. 8 at 1 p.m. at Gautier Municipal Court. Marius Markee Kirkland, 23, was shackled and chained and dressed in red jail jumpsuit when he arrived at court today. He kept his head down during most of the hearing. His family sat on the back row of the courtroom.
