Talk about bigotry and stereotyping! How bigoted is it of HUD to decide that a community venue which is used for performing arts, as well as voting and meetings, does not benefit low-income residents? Are low income persons not capable of appreciating symphony performances? I grew up low-income in a single-parent household. I attended symphonies as a child because my parent saw to it that I was exposed to the arts, and this changed my life.
Well folks, they’re fighting over the big bucks! I have a suggestion, (drumroll) please use some of the money to remodel the Saenger Theatre! It’s part of the local history and it’s the last of its kind in that area.
Never miss a local story.
Need a sign
Will someone please inform those responsible for entering the wording on the signs near the roundabout, on Highway 15 and Lamey Bridge, that the correct abbreviation for Highway is Hwy and not Hyw!
Not a burden
A Sound Off writer wants the country to take care of the elderly so that elderly parents are not a burden to their children? My husband and I had the privilege of caring for an elderly parent for 12 years who added immensely to our home. When you love someone, taking care of them is not a burden.
Biloxi is expecting approximately 70,000 mostly black spring breakers to come to the coast in April. How can this be? Don’t these people know that the Mississippi flag is insensitive to them? Shouldn’t someone inform them of this so they can boycott this event? Let’s get the word out.
There is nothing like revenge from an FBI director scorned. They know where all the skeletons are buried. Remember J. Edgar Hoover?
Trump has reached new lows to keep the heat off the Russia investigation, saying why do we bring in people from “sh--hole countries.” Controversy over that should be good for at least a week. I believe he is getting desperate. Another one was blaming Obama for selling the old embassy land for peanuts when it was George Bush who did it. How far back will he reach to keep Obama demonized and keep muddying the water? Sad.
Presently there are 65 countries which have built on their borders. When Turkey finishes their border walls with Iran and Syria it will be 66. I am unable to understand the reluctance of Democrats/liberals who oppose border security. A nation is defined by its borders. Those who cross our borders illegally are not immigrants. They are criminals.
