How about Hancock?
I just read the front-page story regarding the growth in Harrison and Jackson counties along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. One county was missing! What happened to Hancock County? Board of Supervisors, Bay St. Louis, Waveland and Diamondhead mayors, we need growth in our county. There is always bragging about the “Western Mississippi Gulf Coast,” but not much happening.
It’s for profit
We continue to hear about health care as though it is going away, but nothing done by either the Republicans or the Democrats has been about health care. Their efforts are about payments. If Congress was trying to address health care, it would be about driving down the cost of treatment and prescriptions, and available community services. Health care is a for-profit endeavor.
Use assets for treatment
It’s a wonderful idea to have confiscated drug assets earmarked to build a border wall. If we look at our Coast area, it would be great to have a portion of confiscated drug assets earmarked for local drug treatment centers.
Crack down on speeders
I agree with the writer about the 18-wheelers speeding; it goes along with the four-wheelers passing them. I have had to do 80 on the interstate to just go along with traffic to pass the big trucks, then when you pass them, the cars pass me doing better than 85. Until there is law enforcement on the roads, it will continue to get worse.
Why the hangups?
Can someone explain to me the purpose behind these numerous phone calls from fictitious numbers that just hang up when you answer? What do the callers (or robo-callers) hope to accomplish?
Yesterday you stopped to look at items at my business. Everything you said was negative. I thought, “My 4-year-old grandchild acts better than this.” After many negative comments, I stopped trying to help you. You get more flies with honey than with vinegar.
School supplies should definitely be included in the tax-free weekend. It would be great if our legislators would give parents this type of tax relief.
Thank you, firefighters
I would like to take a moment and thank all firefighters. They have a difficult job. Many times the fire crew will be at a medical call before the ambulance gets there, being trained in medical emergencies. Those extra minutes could mean life or death to a person. They are also at the scenes of accidents and searches, they put out home and business and fires. I don’t feel they get much recognition for their efforts.
