There are a lot of nongovernmental organizations out there helping our veterans.
These organizations take care of veterans with disabilities, and they help with needed housing, food, etc. They are to be highly commended for their efforts.
My question is why do they even have to exist? Our politicians decide to send these young people into harm's way, but when they get home, it seems like our country forgets about them.
I would think that since U.S. politicians send these young folks into harm's way that we, as a country, should be responsible for them when they return.
Never miss a local story.
Yes, this would be very expensive, but as they have risked their lives for us, it should be a policy that should be considered with a high priority when developing budgets.
