Teenager killed in ATV accident

BAY ST. LOUIS --
A teenaged rider of an all-terrain vehicle died here over the weekend when the four-wheeler overturned, officials said.Joshua Peterson, 16, died of bodily injuries suffered in the accident, said Hancock County Coroner Norma Stiglet. The youth was driving the ATV in the area of Old Spanish Trail and Webb Street when the accident occurred about 5 p.m. Saturday, she added.
A crew from American Medical Response attempted life-saving measures while transporting Peterson to Hancock Medical Center.
"They worked all the way to the hospital, but they didn't get him back," Stiglet said. "It was a terrible tragedy."
