Pass Christian post office opens Monday

The U.S. Postal Service will open its new post office in Pass Christian on Monday. The new building stands at the same location on Ladnier Street where Hurricane Katrina washed away the old building.
"Everyone is excited about getting into the new building," said Mike Murks, acting post office operations manager for South Mississippi. "The employees are excited about their new workroom, and I believe the customers are going to beam with pride too when they walk into this brand spanking new facility to conduct their postal business. It’s going to be a good day for Pass Christian and another step forward for the Coast."
Doors open officially at 8:30 a.m. Customers holding keys for Post Office Boxes will be able to exchange them for their new ones at the retail service counter. The phone number of 228-452-7798 will remain the same.
