PASCAGOULA — The jury in the murder trial of Frank D. Patton went to deliberate around 1:30 p.m. today.

Circuit Court Judge Robert Krebs has approved an instruction that allows the jury to consider whether Patton is guilty of the lesser charge of manslaughter in his wife’s death.

Remika Patton was 30 and the mother of two children. She was shot to death on Feb. 23, 2008, at the couple’s home on Hilma Street in Moss Point.

The Sun Herald updates this story after the verdict comes in and in Saturday’s editions.
