Gulfport Mayor George Schloegel and members of the City Council will gather about 5 p.m. today for a major announcement.
The news, which is expected to be economic development in nature, will be held at Central Fire Station just behind City Hall.
Members of the media covering the council meeting will be given a few minutes to walk from City Hall to the fire station.
