If SRHS can’t pay retirees, attorneys argue Jackson County taxpayers should

Attorneys for Singing River Health System retirees hope the full 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals will decide whether a court-approved settlement should stand regarding SRHS’s failed pension plan. The retirees object to a settlement provision, approved by a three-judge panel of the appeals court, that would release Jackson County from further liability should SRHS fail to make pension payments outlined in the settlement.
