The Washington Post’s The Fix offers a bit of clarity on the attempt by Chris McDaniel to overturn the Republican runoff for U.S. Senate.
Here’s the Cliff Notes version: It’s not happening.
The Fix knocks down the two key arguments, finding:
A.) There just aren’t enough bad votes.
Never miss a local story.
B.) The portion of the election law that says a voter can’t vote in the runoff unless the voter intends to support winner in the general is unconstitutional. (The writers make the case that McDaniel may have broken that one.)
It’s fascinating. Read it here, but remember, it’s the mainstream media (you’ve been warned.)
